It includes a flux-charging system for the EAF/LMF, and an alloy-feeding systems for the ladle furnace and vacuum degasser. It also offers metallics charging and feeding capabilities, and carbon injection for the EAF.

Developers in the Golden Triangle region figure a dozen or so businesses - some of which will be steel processors - will locate around the 1,380-acre SeverCorr site. Two processors, Heidtman Steel and Kenwal Steel Corp., already announced plans to build near the mill in the Golden Triangle Industrial Park.

Mike Wagner, SeverCorr's chief commercial officer, reports that the plant will begin pickling - a process for cleansing hot rolled bands - before year's end. announces yet another spin-off company
Toledo, Ohio-based Heidtman Steel will be the latest business partner to join the
SeverCorr area industrial site. Heidtman, an industry leader in steel sales and
processing, is negotiating with contractors to begin construction on a 240,000-square-foot
processing facility on a portion of the 1,400-acre megasite, which SeverCorr has
set aside for its business partners.
